It's time to
say, Bye-Bye
Flab!
You need to lose weight... lose the lard. And we all
know that weight loss isn’t easy. If there was such a thing as
easy weight loss, this web site and thousands of others would
not exist.
When I was a kid, my mother would discretely point out fat
people to me, and explain that they had trouble with their
glands. She believed it, too. But then she didn't have the
problem. She wasn't a fattie, but I am and I have learned a lot
about the problem.
Welcome to ByeBye Flab. Here’s where I'll teach you the
truth about weight loss!
So many people want to lose weight nowadays because obesity
is a major health problem in all modern affluent societies.
So much processed food is available to us, our problem is a
surfeit of food, not a scarcity of it. And this is compounded
by the lack of exercise we experience by living a lifestyle
with all the modern conveniences we take for granted.
They save us from effort and using up energy... and
that’s much of the problem. We burn up so little
physical energy and eat so many rich foods, that our lives are
out of balance. This excess energy we consume is turned into
body fat. That is our obesity problem in a nutshell. In fact
it’s not just a problem; it’s an epidemic.
The poorer countries of the world do not suffer from this
obesity epidemic the way we do, because millions of their
peoples have the exact opposite problem: They expend heaps of
energy just to try to stay alive, and the problem of many is
just finding enough food to stay alive.
These people do not get fat, like we do.
Our problem is one of excess flab. Being
fat affects our self-esteem, it damages our social
lives, it can affect our sex lives and ultimately it will
destroy our health, as well.
If we’re affected by obesity (yes, it’s an ugly word, isn’t
it?) -- then our quality of life is reduced and the length of
our lives will be shortened. When you really think about it,
obesity is a terminal disease.
The only way to escape this vicious circle is to lose
weight. We can accomplish weight loss through following a
sensible weight loss diet plan... And we can increase our
health and fitness and hasten that weight loss through moderate
exercise. We can burn the fat and say Bye Bye to our flab.
Weight loss is only a goal for those of us who recognize
we've got a weight problem. It's about body image, yes... but
it's also about staying healthy and trying to avoid the
diseases that over-eating and obesity can bring, such as acid
reflux (GORD) and Type 2 Diabetes.
The good news is that you normally have to abuse your body
for years before these problems take hold. The human body is so
amazingly resilient. The bad news is that many popular "quick
fixes" do not address the real problem. At best they may
offer temporary help. At worst they can cause even more
damage.
